At The Rock 03:17
At the Rock, praying by the stone, feeding my mind to recall the zone Green the land that receives this boy, out of the woods I ask for more Whaling sound sleepy town like a million of Jerry clown Distance me in hurry foam now I know the world is my home At the rock bestriding the load searching for clues and garden of roses Walk me there so I can hear you there I had to hit the road At the Rock loading the stock shipping golden rays around the clock Shifting lanes to flip the part my memories will not be tossed On the border where they cross in the middle of nowhere they mass Same story, same history, same people, true tragedy, Took a boat to a far away land most of my ancestors traveled here with no plan They began with their own bare hands to build a new world in a captive land Al I know is I’m longing for memories to drop at my door, The message is true the message is real the power is you when you’re clear At the rock praying by the Stone

Coming on deck, we’re coming on strong, Close to the Edge, we’re moving along, 400yrs of Blood, sweat and tears, so confused we forget how we get here, I will stand and testify, I will begin and tell you no lie. The story starts in a far away land, my native home blue water and red sand, my people were sold for their land and their gold, many of them perish in the middle cone, creating wealth for Lisbon and Rome sold on the dock for my denture and stock. Branding our skins as cattle and horse, I had to riot and fight them of course, as black is a beast they called me his son, down on the plantation they gave no reason, for the inhuman treatment we endure, too many souls burn in the cotton fern.. Escaping in droves to north city ghettos, we escape the south but not the sorrow, we head up north and hope they wouldn’t run with their dogs on my tail till the morning dawn, Coming on deck, we’re coming on strong, Close to the Edge, we’re moving along, They reengineered slavery in a different tone, control the laws and keep me begging for more, no talks of education or reparation, only murder, drug and capitulation, our memory hits and my vision is clear, to be myself at last free as a bird, what needs to be done is give some, mark History for every black man and woman, let us tell the true story of a people that rose out of prophecy, the north star shines as a guiding light, salute the return of my Glory Might.

Will they talk? Will they talk? Will they walk? Will they spark? Will they drop? Will they stop? Will they start if we part? Forging the past in a the dark the eyes of the Tiger is still on you No longer will we be denied the truth when we could be persecuted right through Will they open the gates to wounds buried beneath the rock Time is never too late when you looking for a star For your blues you can weep from the deep in your sleep Bound a blue tight arrow aiming bonds for tomorrow Prophets for all human kind taught the world how to find the clue Reverse the power in your mind you will see yourself go through

Let it be known, there ain’t no use for the words I choose Are you on the phone? Nothing safe till I see your face Time passes on I can’t believe that I’m alone I thought you were gone Rescue me in the early dawn Had to turn my day and pray and pray Had to turn my night to dreaming away Had to turn my life and start to take Lessons from a light that came to stay Just pass around if I dwell I’ll hit the ground Might as well be done God above show me the road is long The path is dry until you answer my heart just cries Still I’ll stay strong ain’t no use to let go until we try Scenes of my own sense go on display. There is no use to play and to push away, One of my heartbeats weighs in the rain Drive to my garden and make my day. Just turn me on bring me in from the storm awhile We will catch on the wind don’t matter when you smile Time passes on; I can’t believe that I’m alone Are you on the phone?

Everything…

about

This album is history in the making as we remember and dedicate this album to the people that escaped through the Underground Railroad. Here in Quebec, we have places that were open for Blacks to follow the road to freedom or to be enslaved. At The Rock represents one of those sanctified places that touches my heart and made me craft visions of the not so distant past and that belongs to me and to you now. Don’t hesitate just persevere was my devise. The vision that I had was to go for it because you don’t know what tomorrow is made of. And little did I know that the world would enter a new phase of systemic global crisis of great existentialist concern and reflection to us all. So like an irrevocable tsunami, I wrote and composed and galvanize my creative process over the last 3yrs. I announce here my songs from the heart and tell stories only the hand’s pen writing to encase my soul and honor laborers across the world like me that do Jah Works for the salvation of people of good will.

These songs were written, arranged and recorded during the period from 2018 to 2020. So it was plan to release these 14 songs set on the Album that was constructed with so much happening in my life as music and creation was throbbing from inside. So here we are in a time of reflection, uncertainty, useless waste of energy and chaos all around the place. What is left of us is more than sugar and gold. Children search true facts because History rocks! At the Rock is part of my journey, I hope you will enjoy.
